Working with people of different nationalities is very common nowadays. In addition to overseas offices, companies are expected to embrace employees to work remotely in an international environment. No matter the size of companies, their providers

as well as their clients tend to come from beyond their

geographical borders. Cultural differences are an

undeniable part of international business.

Each country, each nationality, has a culture of its own. However, these differences are not always recognized as a driver of lacking results or friction within teams.

Peter van der Lende is Dutch and lived and worked in nine countries in Europe, Latin America, and North America. He currently resides in Atlanta. Peter started in the airline industry and worked as an independent since 2013 and with Culture Matters since 2019. In 2017 Peter started Expand360 with a partner. Expand360 aims at assisting companies expanding internationally by providing business development services. Peter has a master’s degree in Business Economics and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Dutch.
