Join for an interdisciplinary exploration of Northern Ireland’s past and present, weaving together insights from history, literature, politics, and conflict management. This one-hour panel will examine how the region’s industrial achievements, political conflicts, and cultural renaissance continue to shape its modern identity and global significance.
From the Titanic’s industrial legacy to the political and social dynamics of The Troubles, including the ways writers and poets engaged with and responded to the conflict, the conversation highlights the forces that have shaped contemporary Northern Ireland. The panel also explores the region’s creative-economy resurgence and its increasing cultural visibility, including its role as a filming landscape for Game of Thrones.
