Second Annual International Trade and Investment Symposium
January 16, 2020 at 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Interested in understanding how the world comes to Georgia? Join the law offices of Christopher N. Smith and Global Atlanta for the second annual statewide International Trade and Investment Symposium in Macon, where we’ll unpack the intricate connections between the state and the global economy.
The evening event at Wesleyan College will feature leading voices from across the state representing the countries, companies and industries underpinning job-creating investment and keeping Georgia undeniably connected beyond the U.S.’s borders at a time of uncertainty over its commitment to engaging with the world.
Confirmed speakers:
The Honorable Kazuyuki Takeuchi — Consul General of Japan for the Southeastern United States. Japanese companies were among the first foreign investors to bring manufacturing into Georgia, starting with YKK in Macon. Now more than 600 Japanese facilities employ upwards of 30,000 Georgians.
Amy Hudnall — Executive Director, Georgia Center of Innovation for Aerospace — the state’s top export category, to the tune of $8.4 billion in 2018
Jennifer Tipping, Esq. — Director of Global Business at Pain Care Labs, a medical device company that has been honored for selling its American-made pain products Buzzy and Vibracool all over the world
Brian Solheim — Plant Manager at Irving Consumer Products, a Canada-based manufacturer of tissue and other personal hygiene products that recently unveiled a $400 million Macon plant and has already announced a $470 million expansion.
