Spivey Hall Summer World Music Festival: Southeast Korean Dance Association

June 25, 2019 at 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Spivey’s Summer World Music Festival is a power-packed, three-day celebration of global music featuring six performances. In between concerts, festival goers can enjoy DIY craft tables reflecting the cultures of the day and an “instrument petting zoo.” The Clayton State University Center will again this year offer a globally-inspired menu and concert goers can picnic by the lake before or after performances.

“Colorful” is the best way to describe this offering from The Southeast Korean Dance Association.
Samulnori is based on Korean farmers’ traditional folk music involving lively rhythmic music performed in the open area of the villages with drums and gongs together with dancing. You won’t want to miss this musical trip to Asia!

About the Artist: The Southeast Korean Dance Association is one of the few official chapters of Korean Dance Association in the United States. Lead by Ms. Kibong Park, the group is also known as the Samulnori team of Korean American women and is an affiliate of the Center for Enriching Community, a locally based nonprofit organization that serves older adults and their multi-generational families by providing various social services and cultural programs.
