Join the Goethe-Zentrum as we present ‘‘Here I stand…“ – Luther-Exhibitions in cooperation with the State Office for Monument Conservation and Archaeology Saxony-Anhalt, State Museum of Prehistory Halle.
Theologian Martin Luther forever changed Christianity when he began the Protestant Reformation in 16th-century Europe. In 2017, the 500th anniversary of his posting of the Ninety-Five Theses will be commemorated throughout Germany with major events and exhibitions, as an event of global historical significance.
They will be celebrating the anniversary with different events in honor of Martin Luther. On Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 7:00pm, we will open the poster-exhibition #HereIStand, which presents a comprehensive picture of Luther’s life, work and of the Reformation—its history, cultural-historical environment, and impact.
The exhibition will be accompanied by monthly events from October 2016 to March 2017 which will focus on different topic regarding the effects of his life, i.e. his expansive grace, Martin Luther King and political speech, and the empowerment of women.
This project is presented by the Goethe-Zentrum in partnership with the State Museum of Prehistory Halle, with the support of the Foreign Office of The Federal Republic of Germany.
