The Africa Film Showcase

October 20, 2022 at 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm

A first-of-its-kind joint event that bridges the gap between Georgia and Africa’s film industries. Come celebrate with RoadShow Africa & RoadShow Equity Partners!

About this event

On October 20th, RoadShow Equity Partners and their subsidiary, RoadShow Africa, will present the Africa Film Showcase, a one-night-only in-person Event and Awards Ceremony. The Africa Film Showcase will feature film industry professionals, government organizations, foreign dignitaries, and business owners all sharing their love for good film and international collaboration. Whether you’re obsessed with entertainment in all forms or you want to keep up with the latest global trends, you’re invited!

FGTV & Fulton Films, GA Dept of Economic Development, Bi-National Chambers, Foreign Dignitaries, and media influencers like Randy Davidson from Georgia Entertainment News will be participating and supporting the opening ceremony. The event will start with welcome cocktails and heavy hors-d’oeuvres. Event hosts will introduce our showcase and display works from Georgia students, independent filmmakers, and African filmmakers. Awards will be announced for the films that best represent innovation and filmmaking excellence. We are thrilled to have nominees from each category attend the event in-person, along with their guests.

The Independent Filmmaking panel is composed of Dwayne Boyd (Producer, Director and Actor as well as instructor at Premier Actors’ Network (PAN)), Robert Hardy, Jr (film director, film producer, screenwriter, and television director. With partner Will Packer, he founded the production company Rainforest Films in 1994. Hardy’s film credits include The Gospel, Trois, and Trois 2: Pandora’s Box.), Markice Moore (also known as Kesan, is an American actor, rapper and reality TV personality. He is best known for playing Ryan Payne in Tyler Perry’s The Payne’s.)

2 Panel participants will be discussing Independent Film Distribution: the presenters are from HULU, Netflix, and Tubi Distribution Networks.

After the revelry, speakers will share their experience creating content across continents and share the benefits and joys of filmmaking in Africa.

The celebration will continue after the closing remarks with live music and a cocktail mixer with international dignitaries and community guests from different industries.

They look forward to seeing you there!
