“The Beautiful Game Brings Peace” is The Carter Center’s breakout sports diplomacy event spotlighting how soccer can promote social change in the United States and around the world. Anchored in President Jimmy Carter’s and Mrs. Rosalynn Carter’s commitment to peace, health, and human dignity, the panel discussion will highlight the use of sports in fostering cross-cultural understanding, fostering dialogue, and strengthening relationships.

Featured Speakers

Christa Mann Scherer, moderator
Formerly with MLS/U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee/NY-NJ Gotham FC, Christa is now the founder of CMS PR, helping clients share their stories and build their brands with a focus on lifting up trailblazers, innovators, women, people of color, social impact initiatives and fast-growing sports properties. She also played D1 soccer at Georgia State University and has long been involved in the sport-for-social-change movement.
