The Compassion Shift Speaker Series at Emory University

Organized and hosted by the Emory University’s Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics, this speaker series takes place over two days. It celebrates the work and global impact made by the Emory Compassion Center over almost three decades of a unique collaboration with Emory Presidential Distinguished Professor His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event also kicks off a Year of Compassion at Emory––an initiative honoring the Dalai Lama’s 90^th birthday––dedicated to exploring how compassion is expressed through teaching, research, creative work, service and daily interactions. This day’s sessions are:  “Advancing a Global Culture of Compassion” (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.), “Compassion as the Engine of Service and Global Change” featuring Richard Gere (virtual), Ajay Piramal and Sonja Lyunomirsky (1 p.m. to 2 p.m.), and “The Future of Leadership” featuring Dr. Daniel Goleman (2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.).
