Please join The Irish Chamber for lunch with former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell and writer Charles McNair, the author of “Play It Again, Sam: The Notable Life of Sam Massell, Atlanta’s First Minority Mayor.
Atlanta’s first minority Mayor Sam Massell served from 1970 to 1974. His administration is credited with many achievements including the creation of MARTA as well as the city’s first enclosed arena, the Omni Coliseum. He was also an advocate for minorities while in office, appointing the first female to City Council and African-Americans as City Department heads.
He currently serves as the President of the Buckhead Coalition.
