What Was So Great About 18th Century Scotland?

It’s widely agreed that the center of philosophy in the United Kingdom, during the Enlightenment, was Scotland rather than England. This lecture will explain why, focusing on the work of Frances Hutcheson, David Hume, and Adam Smith, and on the importance of sociability and of emotion in their work.
