World Health Day 2021: Health Equity and Equality
Global Minnesota has partnered with the World Health Organization to host a virtual symposium on World Health Day, on April 7th. The theme chosen by the WHO for World Health Day 2021 is “Health Equity and Equality.” This free event will feature two dozen local, national and international leaders from a wide range of public and private institutions, including the WHO and UNICEF, and from healthcare and medical innovation companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Fairview Health Services, Hennepin Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson, Mayo Clinic, Medtronic, UBS, UnitedHealthcare Global and the University of Minnesota.
This enormous topic extends all the way from local grassroots issues to global policy initiatives. With its reputation for health care, organizations and companies based in Minnesota are in a unique position to share expertise in improving global health. As the facilitator of this symposium, Global Minnesota serves as a conduit of information that can take local innovations and extend their reach across the world.
