SUMMARY:Export Stories: Navigating Trade Turbulence 2025
DESCRIPTION:International trade is never boring — while some say “the world is flat\,” those crossing borders for business know that there are inevitable mountains to climb when it comes to overcoming regulation\, getting paid and adapting products to local conditions. \n\n\n\nBut with turbulence becoming the new normal\, why start exporting your products and services now\, with a trade war kicking into gear and the threat of retaliatory tariffs on the horizon in key markets? \n\n\n\nBecause for every firm whose anxiety or apathy keeps them from tapping the 95 percent of the world’s consumers who live outside the U.S.\, there’s another company finding lucrative customers around the world\, boosting resiliency in times of domestic uncertainty. Exporting firms\, studies show\, pay better\, hire more and are better shielded against shocks. \n\n\n\nFrom software royalties and franchise fees to manufactured inputs and consumer products\, sellers of both goods and services in Georgia have learned to overcome real risks to seize the innovative edge and brand cachet that can come with exporting done right. \n\n\n\nJoin Select Cobb and Global Atlanta for a panel discussion where tales of export success from local pioneers will help you take the first (or next) step toward crafting and implementing your international strategy. \n\n\n\nFeatured Speakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWei Siong Tan\, Ph.D.\,Founder and Director of Business Operations\, AccuSentry Inc.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCynthia T. SUMMARY:Ambassador Briefing: Pakistan -- Reaching for Reform
DESCRIPTION:Join Global Atlanta and Miller & Martin for a timely discussion with Rizwan Saeed Sheikh\, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States since August 2024\, on investment opportunities as the country of 235 million people reaches for reform. \n\n\n\nDuring his first official visit to Atlanta to meet community leaders and students\, Mr. Saeed will outline the government’s efforts to boost financial inclusion and drive growth through its Uraan Pakistan plan\, which aims to seed 6 percent growth by 2028\, led by export-oriented sectors and in collaboration with the World Bank and other multilateral institutions\, as outlined by the finance minister at the recent World Economic Forum. \n\n\n\nEven amid stalled talks between the government and opposition\, Mr. Saeed will showcase how sectors like energy\, infrastructure\, technology\, mining\, and agriculture offer substantial growth potential\, and how foreign investors from some of the world’s most dynamic economies are seizing opportunities in this key South Asian market. \n\n\n\nViewing Atlanta as a hub for higher education\, he will also explore deeper university collaborations and opportunities for the mutual recognition of degrees and credentials to drive further exchange. A fintech hub\, Atlanta could also play a role in the country’s nascent digitization efforts\, bringing individuals and small businesses into the formal economy and reducing the unbanked population. \n\n\n\nHeld over lunch\, the conversation will also address how Pakistan will work with the new U.S. administration\, manage regional tensions and where it sits in a world increasingly marked by U.S.-China rivalry. \n\n\n\nSee a summary of our last Pakistan briefing: Georgia Now on Pakistan’s Map\, Ambassador Says \n\n\n\nFeatured Speaker\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAmbassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSponsored & Hosted by: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSponsored by:
