SUMMARY:2020 Human Rights Conference: "Rethinking Rights in Times of Crisis: Local and Global Perspectives on Resilience and Dignity"
DESCRIPTION:This is a conference to promote intellectual conversations about the future of our world deeply\, creatively\, conceptually and contextually. Participants can look forward to speakers\, roundtables and workshops addressing issues\, trends and developments surrounding the themes of human rights\, social justice\, gender equality\, global activism as well as diversity and inclusion.\n\nThe Honorable Nadia Theodore\, consul general of Canada\, will deliver the keynote address on human rights in the 21st Century from a Canadian perspective. Consul General Theodore is a government affairs\, international relational and communications leader with over 20 years of progressive Federal Government experience in strategic policy\, communications\, as well as trade and stakeholder affairs. Dr. Wendy S. Hesford of The Ohio State University will also deliver a keynote on gendering human rights and humanitarian violence at the border. Dr. Hesford has published six books including the award-winning “Spectacular Rhetorics: Human Rights Visions\, Recognitions and Feminisms.
