SUMMARY:Rooted & Rising: Dor Chadash — From Georgia\, for the Future of Zionism
DESCRIPTION:This year\, J Street Georgia celebrates a new generation of courageous Jewish leaders shaping the future of liberal Zionism. We are proud to present the Tzedek v’Shalom award to three inspiring young Georgia leaders — Erin Beiner\, Atlanta native and Director of J Street U; Lauren Haines\, past J Street U Board member and recent college graduate originally from Athens\, GA; and Matan Berg\, current J Street U Board Vice President and Atlanta native. \n\n\n\nOur keynote speaker\, Dr. Yehuda Kurtzer\, President of the Shalom Hartman Institute\, will offer reflections on how we cultivate moral leadership across generations — and what it means to raise voices\, values\, and communities rooted in courage\, care\, and Jewish responsibility. \n\n\n\nCome be inspired by the voices rising from our own Georgia community\, and recommit to building a future rooted in democracy\, dignity\, and shared humanity — for all who call the region home. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds benefit the J Street Education Fund. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister

SUMMARY:Remembering Their Stories: Jewish Refugees from Arab lands and Iran
DESCRIPTION:This evening conversation commemorates the tragedy of people who were forced to flee from their homes and to leave the countries where they had lived for millennia\, solely because of their Jewish identity. \nPanelists will discuss their personal stories. \nThe descendants of these immigrants from Arab countries now account for a majority of the Jewish diaspora. The Jewish exiles who were forced to flee their homes overcame personal and communal tragedy and not only persevered\, but thrived; many have risen to important positions in the national government and in the public and private sectors. They have made an invaluable contribution to the fabric of Israeli society\, and their vibrant cultures are an integral part of the colorful mosaic of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. It is time for the world to hear their story.

The Last Chance” \nJoin together with a hundred thousand plus people from around the world as we discuss the most important questions for society today. This historic event is initiated by people themselves with the goal to raise vital questions that concern topics of peace\, humanness\, and empathy. They will touch on the question as to why we have such world problems as wars\, international conflicts\, racial and religious discrimination\, misinterpretation of information by mass media\, consumer oriented society\, etc. This is a pivotal opportunity on such a significant scale for our human family to look into the eyes of each other and unite\, not only in words\, but in deeds. \n“THE UNIVERSAL GRAIN” is a project aimed towards uniting people on the basis of spiritual values and common grains of knowledge that exist in all religions and cultures. By studying the sacred texts of all existing religions and cultures\, we show that all world teachings are based on the same grains of truth; our cultures and religions speak and teach about the same truths and knowledge. This realization gives people an understanding that we are indeed all United!

SUMMARY:Atlanta Council on International Relations Presents: Dr. Mona Tajali on 'The Rise of Islamic Politics in Turkey'
DESCRIPTION:ACIR Welcomes Dr. Mona Tajali who will speak on “The Rise of Islamic in Politics in Turkey.” \nFor decades the relationship between the United States and Turkey has been described as one of the most important relationships in the region. During the Cold War Turkey\, a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)\, was the backbone of NATO’s defense of its “Southern Flank.” Today however\, such factors as domestic politics\, changing national perceptions\, and regional conflicts have served to undermine both Turkey’s relationship with NATO and the United States. What had often been described as a durable startegic relationship between the United States and Turkey has become frayed. \nCome and engage in a dynamic dialogue with Professor Mona Tajali and explore root causes of this change in relationship. \n$35 for ACIR members;\n$45 for non-members;\n$75 annual membership \nMembers are welcomed to bring non-member friends to ACIR events at member rates. The same guest may only be invited once at member rates.
