SUMMARY:Online Japanese Classes – Fall 2020
DESCRIPTION:These ONLINE Japanese language courses emphasize communication skills needed for business\, virtual meetings\, and social interaction.  The courses also integrate values of the Japanese market so that students will not only develop competence in the language but also acknowledge the business and cultural environments of Japan. For new students with prior experience with the Japanese language\, a telephone interview will be held\, if necessary\, to determine a student’s appropriate class level. \n  \nAll classes begin the week of October 12\, 2020\, and continue for 8 weeks. Classes are held for 2 hours ONLINE via the Zoom web conference system. Please note\, meeting time is subject to change. The cost for the course is $200 for JASG members and $245 for non-members (please include the amount in check). All non-members who enroll will be given full one-year membership into The Society ($45 value). After the first class\, no refunds will be issued and no fee credit for enrollment into future classes will be allowed.

France\, the European Union\, and the United States have not yet clearly defined the approaches they will take to address these ethical issues. DESCRIPTION:After the national town hall\, Dr. Lyle Jared Goldstein from the Naval War College will offer the keynote presentation entitled “Meeting China Halfway: How to Avert War and Reduce Militarized Rivalry in US-China Relations”. Dr. Goldstein is research professor in the China Maritime Studies Institute (CMSI) at the Naval War College. The founding director of CMSI and author of dozens of articles on Chinese security policy\, he focuses on Chinese undersea warfare. On the broader subject of US-China relations\, Goldstein published the book Meeting China Halfway in 2015. Over the last several years\, Goldstein has focused on the North Korea crisis. The event will focus on current efforts to curtail human trafficking as well as the structures in place to provide victims of sexual exploitation with a path to recovery. \n“Our goal is to educate our audience on human trafficking in Georgia as well how it persists as a challenge around the world\,” says Bill Bozarth\, co-organizer and member of the ACIR Program Committee. “We hope to provide an action plan for those who wish to engage and be part of solutions.” \nCo-organizer and President of IWTT\, Brenda Morant\, will join Mr. Bozarth as host for the event. \nA panel of experts will focus on the ways Georgia is dealing with this worldwide challenge.
