Heather earned her Ph.D. in Political Science at the Maxwell School\, Syracuse University. She was an associate of Maxwell’s Program for Advancement on Research in Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC) and a doctoral fellow at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. Professor Kaufmann-Kohler is known worldwide for her expertise in international arbitration: she has acted in over 200 international arbitrations\, mainly as an arbitrator. She appears on numerous institutional arbitration panels\, including those of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)\, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID)\, American Arbitration Association (AAA)\, London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA)\, Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC)\, and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). A partner with Levy Kaufmann-Kohler\, formerly she practiced law at Schellenberg Wittmer and Baker & McKenzie\, and she is a member of the Bars of Geneva and New York. She is a member of the American Arbitration Association and Honorary President of the Swiss Arbitration Association. \nCooperating Entities: The lecture is presented by the Atlanta International Arbitration Society\, the Dean Rusk International Law Center\, and the University of Georgia School of Law\, as part of the law school’s Georgia Women in Law Lead (Georgia WILL) initiative. DESCRIPTION:Christa Clarke\, curator of the arts of global Africa at the Newark Museum\, considers the complex issues surrounding the representation of contemporary African art in museums. Since the start of the 21st century\, Newark\, like many museums\, has placed  increasing emphasis on the modern and contemporary arts of Africa\, expanding on an historic collection begun a century ago. In a lecture titled Curating Contemporary African Art\, Clarke addresses the development of the collection at Newark\, discussing the curatorial strategies behind collecting and display.

DESCRIPTION:Join Atlanta Sister Cities for a luncheon featuring former\nU.S. Ambassador to Nigeria and the Republic of Congo\nDr. Robin Renee Sanders to discuss how small and medium-sized enterprises\nhave helped drive economic development and the growth of Africa’s middle class.\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nAmbassador (Dr.) Robin Renee Sanders served as one of the U.S. Government’s top diplomats on African issues over a long career in the United States Diplomatic Corps with senior positions ranging from Ambassador to the Republics of Nigeria and the Congo\, two stints as Director for Africa at the White House\, and the U.S. Permanent Representative to the West African Regional Organization ECOWAS. Dr. Sanders received her doctorate degree from Pittsburgh’s Robert Morris University and is a thought leader on today’s Africa political\, economic\, and security issues. She has testified before the U.S. Congress on these topics. Her advisory firm is divided into two parts: FEEEDS Advocacy Initiative covering economic\, sustainable development (SDGs)\, poverty alleviation\, Africa Diaspora and SMEs issues; and\, FE3DS\, LLC on Africa business strategies\, especially on Africa trade\, technology\, power\, aviation\, and housing. FEEEDS also serves as global advisor and board member to several organizations. As CEO-FEEEDS she co-hosts an annual Africa event with Gallup World Poll.
