All fees collected will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.** \nIf you cannot make it but would still like to contribute\, a high impact alternative to collecting food items is to collect monetary donations. SUMMARY:Remembering Their Stories: Jewish Refugees from Arab lands and Iran
DESCRIPTION:This evening conversation commemorates the tragedy of people who were forced to flee from their homes and to leave the countries where they had lived for millennia\, solely because of their Jewish identity. \nPanelists will discuss their personal stories. \nThe descendants of these immigrants from Arab countries now account for a majority of the Jewish diaspora. The Jewish exiles who were forced to flee their homes overcame personal and communal tragedy and not only persevered\, but thrived; many have risen to important positions in the national government and in the public and private sectors. They have made an invaluable contribution to the fabric of Israeli society\, and their vibrant cultures are an integral part of the colorful mosaic of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. It is time for the world to hear their story.

Eyol Dror will enage in a conversation about The Good Neighbor Directorate which was established in the IDF Northern Command’s Bashan Division with the aim of helping some 250\,000 Syrian civilians in the Israeli-Syrian border area\, who were severely affected by the civil war in Syria. \nUnder his command\, the unit carried out more than 700 humanitarian aid operations – evacuated 1\,400 sick children and 4\,500 injured civilians for medical treatment in the State of Israel. In addition\, they supplied thousands of tons of food\, medicine\, clothing\, and over a million liters of fuel. During the directorate’s last months of activity\, they assisted some 50\,000 displaced Syrian civilians – who fled the regime’s bombings and coordinated the evacuation of over 400 Syrian civilians\, members of the Syrian White Helmets civil defense volunteer organization and their families. \nThis virtual conversation is hosted by the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast and Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.
