DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Monique Seefried for a Special Presentation on World War I \n\n\n\nDr. Monique Seefried is a commissioner on the U.S. WWI Centennial Commission (2014-2024) and has published extensively on the history of World War I and II\, as well as on archaeology. Born in Tunisia and raised in Austria\, France\, and Italy\, Dr. Seefried holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. She moved to Atlanta in 1977 and has since made significant contributions to education and the museum world\, including her role as Curator of Near Eastern Art at the Carlos Museum of Emory University. \n\n\n\nDr. Seefried serves on various boards\, including the Agnes Scott College Board of Visitors and the Leadership Board of the Carlos Museum at Emory University. Chun served as the Director of U.S. Affairs at the Korean Ministry of national Defense and was involved in negotiations and cooperation with the U.S. on the relocation of U.S. forces\, camp returns\, ROK/U.S. Joint Vision Study\, Special Measures Agreement\, and the transition of the Wartime Operational Control.  \n\n\n\nLTG (Ret.) Chun commanded the 27th Infantry Division and was the Senior Member of the UN Command Military Armistice Commission. In November of 2013\, Inbum Chun was promoted to Lieutenant General and was assigned as the Commander of the ROK Special Warfare Command. Lieutenant General (Ret.) Chun retired from active duty as of July 31st\, 2016. \n\n\n\nLieutenant General (Ret.) Chun has also conducted concurrent fellowships with the Brookings Institute and the U.S.-Korea Institute (USKI) at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) until October 2017. He was also a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Sam-Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech. LTG (Ret.) A firm believer in service before self\, McCormick joined the Marine Corps and became a helicopter pilot. \n\n\n\nDuring his two decades of service\, Rich deployed to combat zones in Africa\, the Persian Gulf\, and Afghanistan. As a Marine\, he flew helicopters\, was Airborne and attached to Army and foreign forces\, and taught at Georgia Tech and Morehouse College as the Marine Officer Instructor. In the Navy\, Rich earned the rank of Commander and served as Department Head for the Emergency Medicine Department in Kandahar\, Afghanistan. \n\n\n\nBetween deployments\, Rich earned his Master of Business Administration from National University and medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta\, where he was honored to serve as student body president. He completed residency in Emergency Medicine through Emory while training at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Most recently\, Dr. McCormick served as an Emergency Room physician at Northside Hospital. \n\n\n\nIn Congress\, Rich serves on the House Armed Services\, Foreign Affairs\, and Science\, Space\, and Technology Committees\, as well as the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. \n\n\n\nRich lives in Suwanee\, Georgia and is a member of Cross Pointe Church. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister
