There is a fee to register for the virtual lecture series\, and registration is required to receive the event link. \n\n\n\nFebruary 22\, 2024\, Topic: U.S.-China Trade Rivalry \n\n\n\nChina’s economic rise and its current policies of increasing the role of the state in the economy have led some U.S. policymakers to seek to deny China access to U.S. technology and investment. Is this a wise strategy\, and how effective can it be? \n\n\n\nSpeaker: Penelope Prime\, Founding Director\, China Research Center \n\n\n\nPlease note\, topics and speakers are subject to change dates. \n\n\n\nGreat Decisions\, presented by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA)\, highlights the most thought-provoking foreign policy challenges facing Americans each year. SUMMARY:Grimm Night - Grim Tales: An Eerie Happy Hour of Unhappy Endings
DESCRIPTION:On February 9 through March 2\, PushPush Arts Theater and Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta present the premiere of “Grimm Night – Grim Tales”\, an eerie happy hour of unhappy endings and grotesquerie\, a tragic comedy inspired by 18 unknown tales of the world-famous Brothers Grimm\, the writers behind such popular fairy tales like Cinderella\, Snow White\, and many others. But beware: the tales in this production are not for little children. Surprisingly modern and utterly from “once upon a time”\, this production leads the audience through a whirlwind of 18 interconnected short tales\, originating from the dark forests and sparkling castles of old Germany\, exploring the human experience from birth through death\, with an unflinching bluntness that would make even Rumpelstiltskin stand still in disbelief and laughter. \n\n\n\nSelected\, dramatized\, and directed by Goethe Executive Director Oliver Gorf. \n\n\n\nIn English. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister
