His love for music and connecting with people fashioned his hobby of disc jockeying into a career that spans hosting shows on Sunshine Radio which later became Choice FM\, and My Star Radio. During the 2020 Covid 19 pandemic when the world got quiet and isolated\, his friends started reaching out to him asking for his DJ-ing presence on Facebook.  Wanting to be a part of the solution on how WE collectively quarantine in isolation\, he decided to use music to keep in touch with friends and to entertain them.  On April 5\, 2020\, the first show aired with the theme\, Music for Your Quarantined Feet (MQF). \nMQF reunited friends and provided some solace at a time when most countries around the world went on lockdown to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The world latched on to MQF\, and catapulted it into a serious music program\, comparable to any show hosted on traditional radio. Every Sunday evening for two hours\, at 4 p.m.  MQF feeds its audience with old school music and Afro beats and the virtual community of hundreds of people around the world creatively bands together to connect\, celebrate\, and heal. The show has also garnered attention from celebrities with guest appearances from Samini the first guest artiste to be featured\, to the music maestro Kojo Antwi\, DJ Fisho provides a platform for patrons to get closer to their favorite artists for free. \nMQF was meant to be a channel of entertainment and fun for friends and classmates all over the world but the virtual show has grown to become more than just a Disc Jockey playing music to thrill his audience. Unsolicited\, donations of gratitude from viewers began to pour in.  Fisho and his wife were overwhelmed by this show of generosity and gratitude\, and so they decided to pay it forward\, by donating the monies to worthy causes.  Frontline workers in the Maryland area received donations of masks\, sanitizers\, gloves and food to help in the fight against COVID-19 and\, as more cash was received\, the gesture was extended to facilities in Ghana. \nSo far\, he has donated to six locations in the state of Maryland and to the Legon Hospital\, his family hospital in Ghana\, the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC)\, the LEKMA Hospital at Teshie\, the Ga East Hospital\, and the Tamale Teaching Hospital.  Each week\, the selected facilities are provided with hot packed lunch and drinks for about 60 persons. MQF is bringing smiles to the faces of many frontline health workers who are sacrificing to ensure that we win the battle against the pandemic. \nBeing able to give back through music and beyond is a blessing and an honor for him. Whether the virtual show will continue after the quarantine\, remains to be seen. but as of now\, you can subscribe to his channel on YouTube (Ekow Fisho) for updates about any and everything new. \nMarjy Marj \nAuthor\, Consultant\, Speaker\, Visionary \nMarjorie Boafo Appiah aka Marjy Marj is a visionary\, management consultant\, author and speaker. She has leveraged her public speaking experience to fundraise for organizations and to empower communities. She is a sought-after speaker who keeps the crowd entertained and engaged at all times. \nMarjy is the founder of Innovation Abound – a company that gives creative ideas the opportunity and resources to flourish. \nAs a community leader\, Marjy is the vice chairman of the Hub City Writers Project Board of Directors.  She also serves as a Trustee at the Charles Lea Center Foundation\, The Spartanburg Regional Foundation and Spartanburg Day School. SUMMARY:Book Talk: Hin Bredendieck: From Aurich to Atlanta
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThe Georgia Tech Library welcomes Gloria Köepnick and Rainer Stamm in conversation with Dean Leslie Sharp for a lively discussion of their 2020 book Hin Bredendieck: From Aurich to Atlanta. This event is free and open to all. \n\nAbout the book: Hin Bredendieck (1904–95) graduated from the Bauhaus and was a versatile designer and pioneering teacher of design. A native of Aurich\, in East Friesland in Germany\, he was a student at the Bauhaus in Dessau from 1927 to 1930. During his time as a student there\, Bredendieck worked with Marianne Brandt to design famous lamps such as the “Kandem Bedside Table Lamp\,” which can be found on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. In 1937\, Bredendieck emigrated to the United States\, where he was appointed as a teacher at the New Bauhaus Chicago. From there\, he moved on to become the founding director of the Institute for Industrial Design at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta\, and from this perch he established himself as one of the most influential mediators of Bauhaus ideas in America in the postwar years. \n\n\nThis richly illustrated volume showcases Bredendieck’s life and work in lavish detail. Highlighting the breadth of his global network and the wide range of artworks he created\, it is a fitting monument to an important artist\, and ambassador\, of the Bauhaus. \n\nFrom Aurich to Atlanta is a new exhibition at the Georgia Tech Library\, which showcases the life and work of Bauhaus-educated designer Hin Bredendieck. It runs from March 22 through May 31\, with three virtual events planned in March and April. \n\n\nA 1930 graduate of the famed Bauhaus School of Design in Germany\, Bredendieck was a student and colleague of design luminaries such as Walter Gropius\, Paul Klee\, and Laslo Moholy-Nagy.  \n\n\nBredendieck emigrated to the United States in 1937 to escape the political turmoil of pre-war Germany. With his fellow Bauhaus emigres\, he brought the Bauhaus design sense and educational methods to America\, teaching first at the new Institute of Design in Chicago\, and later founding the department of industrial design at Georgia Tech.  \nThis event is hosted by the Georgia Tech Library and the Landesmuseum Oldenburg (Oldenburg State Museum for Art and Cultural History) with sponsorship from the Halle Foundation. Collaborators include Dr. Jennifer Gerndt\, the Consulate General of Germany\, and the Georgia Tech School of Industrial Design. Special thanks to the family and former students of Hin Bredendieck for their contributions to this exhibit.

SUMMARY:Let's Talk with Dr. Krishauna Hines-Gaither: Dimensions of Oppression (Personal\, Interpersonal\, Institutional\, Systemic\, Cultural)
DESCRIPTION:Please join Kennesaw State University Center for African and African Diaspora Studies as they welcome Dr. Krishauna Hines-Gaither for their spring conversation series\, “Let’s Talk with Dr. Krishauna Hines-Gaither.” \nThis workshop presents the five dimensions of oppression and offers examples of each\, as well as strategies for combating them. Many individuals are not equipped to combat oppression because they have failed to name it. Some are fighting the wrong fight. They may be attacking an issue on an interpersonal level\, that really needs an institutional response. Powerful change can happen when there is a systematic understanding about the inner workings of the dimensions of oppression. \nAbout the Speaker\nDr. Krishauna Hines-Gaither serves as the Associate Vice President for Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion at Guilford College in Greensboro\, NC. She holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has worked in the field of diversity for over 15 years. Before becoming an administrator\, Dr. Hines-Gaither was a college professor for almost two decades. She taught Spanish\, (Afro)Latin American Studies\, African Diaspora Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She is a frequent speaker\, trainer and scholar on a variety of topics related to inclusion. Dr. Hines-Gaither has been quoted in national publications\, and she is a leading diversity consultant to top rated U.S. and international companies. Dr. Hines-Gaither is also a popular blogger at Cup of Diversity.com.
