Thomas P. Fischer, district director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service’s (INS) Atlanta District Office, retired last week to start his own consulting firm entitled, Immigration Directors and Associates.
“I see a great need in the international community for knowledge of the internal processes of the INS,” he told GlobalFax in an interview last week.
As district director, Mr. Fischer oversaw INS operations in Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina. He served the INS for more than 32 years.
Now based in Morganton, located 95 miles north of Atlanta in Fannin County, Mr. Fischer said he considers the country’s lack of highly trained technical workers as a serious problem requiring the services of a consulting firm such as the one he has just launched.
“I’m really in a unique position to assist individuals and companies,” he added. Immigration Directors and Associates will assist with international relocation, visa issuance, compliance with employee work authorizations and related issues.
