The most senior officials of The Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (Ex-Im Bank) will be visiting Atlanta on Tuesday, Sept. 28, in a special one-day meeting to review the bank’s programs for assisting small businesses. The meeting, to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Westin Peachtree Plaza downtown, is free and open to the public.
James A. Harmon, the bank’s chairman and president, and Jackie M. Clegg, vice chairman, are to attend as are a variety of policy and planning professionals.
“This is an excellent opportunity to meet the senior managers of the bank who handle the day-to-day processing and approval of transactions,” Christine Topoulos told GlobalFax last week. Ms. Topoulos is the managing director, international division, at SunTrust in Atlanta and is a member of the Ex-Im Bank’s Advisory Committee.
Panel discussions will provide an overview of Ex-Im Bank programs and focus on a variety of topics including the need for trade and professional associations, CPAs and attorneys to promote the bank’s programs to their members and clients.
Dennis P. Lockhart, president of Heller International Group, the international subsidiary of Heller Financial Inc., which serves the small- to middle-sized company market, will head several panel discussions in his capacity as chairman of the Advisory Committee.
In addition, a group of small exporters will describe their experiences with Ex-Im Bank programs.
