Richard Burt, former U.S. Ambassador to Germany and assistant secretary of state in the Reagan Administration, has been named chairman of the board of directors of Video Lottery Technologies, Inc. (VLT), an Atlanta based provider of system software, equipment and related services for on-line lotteries.
“Opportunities for lottery and gaming systems continue to grow throughout the world — particularly in Canada, Europe, Asia, South America and the U.S.,” said Mr. Burt. “And VLT has developed a strong presence in these key markets.”
Mr. Burt is a founder and the chairman of International Equity Partners, L.P., a Washington D.C. merchant banking firm focusing on emerging markets. Before leaving government in 1991, Mr. Burt served as the chief negotiator in the Strategic Arms Reduction Talks with the former Soviet Union and as the U.S. Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany from 1985 to 1989.
