Norcross-based FleetCor Technologies Inc., which provides fuel cards to help companies manage their fleets, has made its second acquisition in the United Kingdom in three years.

FleetCor bought Epyx from HgCapital in October for an undisclosed sum in a move to expand into the fleet-maintenance sector.

Epyx manages an Internet-based system that helps customers connect with more than 9,000 maintenance garages around the country.

The acquisition is part of a three-year, $1 billion buying binge and follows FleetCor’s purchase of Allstar, which it bought from Arval in December 2011 to establish a stronger presence in the U.K.

With more than $6 billion in market capitalization, Fleetcor operates in 43 countries. It has made 50 acquisitions in the last 11 years and maintains relationships with more than 800 partners worldwide.
