HispanicBusiness, a national magazine focusing on Hispanic companies and entrepreneurs in the United States, has recognized four Georgia companies as among the 100 fastest-growing Hispanic companies in the country from 2000-04.
The four companies are Precision 2000 Inc., Carniceria 3 Hermanos Inc., Cape Environmental Management Inc. and CorTrans Logistics LLC.
Atlanta-based Precision 2000 Inc., a general construction company, was ranked the 31st fastest growing, showing a 566.7 percent increase in sales from 2000-04, or a compounded annual growth rate of 46.1 percent. The company had gross sales of $6 million in 2004, up from $900,000 in 2000.
Giomar Obregon, CEO and co-owner of Precision 2000, told GlobalAtlanta that the company got its first contract in 1998 with the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and has doubled its revenue almost every year since then. The construction firm of 35 employees is currently working on a $12 million project to build a consolidated rental car facility at the airport. Ms. Obregon said being a Hispanic, female-owned business helped Precision 2000 to secure contracting opportunities after she and her husband and business partner Carlos Sanchez started the company in 1998. Both are civil engineers from Colombia who came to Georgia to earn their master’s degrees at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
