Ubifrance, France’s agency for international business development, is seeking to hire a trade adviser, who both writes and speaks French, for its food, wine and spirits department in Atlanta.

The department assists French companies entering the U.S. market by promoting their products, services and investments. It also serves as a liaison to the department’s directors and managing director in New York.

The trade adviser’s responsibilities are to include providing French companies with information and counsel about the U.S. market and more specifically the U.S. Southeast. The department is responsible for developing markets in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama.

The trade adviser also is to assist French companies find new partners and clients in the U.S. and organize trade missions and seminars in the U.S. to foster commercial collaborations between U.S. and French companies.

In addition, the trade adviser is to identify new business opportunities and market trends; research information-gathering and content development for publications and articles and network with importers, distributors, agents and retail buyers through trade show visits, telephone calls and company/store visits.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant field such as economics, international business or business administration.

They also should have two years of work experience in sales, marketing or consulting. Strong communication and networking skills are required.

Among the other requirements are a willingness to travel in the U.S. and France and have excellent word/data processing knowledge with MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
