The French Trade Commission (FTC) of Atlanta, with sponsors Georgia Power and Electricity of France, introduced to Georgia eight French executives from the plexiglas, wood products, chemical and other industries to meet with counterparts and potential customers during the week of June 12.
The trade mission, primarily composed of directors from small to mid-sized companies in the Aquitaine region in France, grew out of the strong partnership between the two utilities and was intended to help the companies “discover America” through Georgia and the Southeast, said Daniel Paret, the French trade commissioner in Atlanta.
Michel Debever, president of the wood products firm Debever S.A., said his company’s high-end wall paneling, which “gives a Victorian feel,” appealed to merchandisers at Home Depot Expo, an interior design branch of the do-it-yourself store chain.
Other Georgia companies that met with delegation members included APCO, a signage company in Atlanta, and Griffin-based OSMOS, a company that manufactures chemicals to preserve lumber.
