Georgia designers and boutique owners are being solicited for the first time to attend Buenos Aires Moda Show, a wholesale fashion trade show to be held in Buenos Aires on March 13-15, said Paula Holfeld, chair of the Atlanta chapter of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce.
In regards to the international focus of this year’s show, Ms. Holdfeld said, “This year is the first time information about the show was sent to embassies and consulates around the world.” She added that attendees in the past were primarily from New York and Europe.
According to Ms. Holfeld, the fashion event will be attractive to Georgians because of the quality of Argentine textiles and the good exchange rate of dollars to pesos.
The show, to be held at the Hilton Hotel in Buenos Aires, will introduce attendees to Argentine designers and new trends in casual and beach wear, as well as cocktail and evening attire. Fashion items will feature a wide range of materials, including denim, knits, leather and suede.
The Atlanta chapter of the Argentine chamber, which was launched this month, is an affiliate of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
