Georgia advanced communications, computer hardware and software, and electronics companies are invited to meet with their Argentine counterparts during a “Georgia Technology MarketPlace” trade mission in Argentina Oct. 30-Nov. 2, hosted by the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade & Tourism (GDITT) and the Consulate General of Argentina in Atlanta.

The mission will consist of meetings between Argentine and Georgia companies, showroom product demonstrations, and networking or negotiating events in Buenos Aires and Córdoba, said Costas Simoglou, GDITT Export Program Manager.

Larger Georgia companies that already have a presence in Argentina will be able to leverage their existing positions by attending the mission, and smaller companies can use the opportunity to enter Argentine markets, Mr. Simoglou told GlobalFax.

He said 14 Georgia firms attended last year’s Technology MarketPlace in Brazil at the American Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Sao Paulo where they generated partnerships with Brazilian companies, either by setting up offices in Brazil or signing deals to market their products in Brazil.

Georgia companies with a presence in Argentina include BellSouth, Coca-Cola, CNN, Equifax, Home Depot, Scientific-Atlanta and UPS, said Carlos Martel, deputy commissioner of GDITT.

Interested Georgia corporations should contact Costas Simoglou at 404-651-6055 or csimoglou@georgia.org.
