The Georgia Department of Economic Development is looking to honor companies that began exporting to a new country last year.

The G.L.O.B.E. – Georgia Launching Opportunities By Exporting –  awards are to be doled out in the form of certificates at a “Go Global” reception in February at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel.

To qualify, companies simply must have begun selling their products or services to a new country during calendar year 2013.

The reception is to be part of a broader event featuring the state’s trade and investment representatives in 10 countries, who usually convene in Atlanta each year.
