The German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S. Inc. is moving its offices to Atlantic Station, another example of an internationally focused organization finding new digs after the real-estate disruption wrought by the pandemic.
The chamber announced its new address on the 17th floor at 271 17th Street in an email notice Thursday to members and supporters. Move-in day is Friday, Oct. 1.
Previously located in the Westside Provisions District at 14th Street and Howell Mill Road, the move brings the chamber closer to the corporate heart of Atlanta, but the space sits not far from its old home on the western side of Midtown, which has exploded in popularity.
The announcement comes just after the Goethe-Zentrum, the German cultural center, said it would open a new joint space with the Alliance Française at Peachtree Center downtown in January 2022.
The GACC South is coming off the successful hosting of an in-person SME Business Development Conference, which rotates to various cities around its coverage area in the Southeast and happened to be held at the W Hotel in downtown Atlanta this year. It was the chamber’s first major conference to be held in person since the pandemic began in March 2020, forcing a pivot to virtual webinars.
The GACC South annual gala is to be held Oct. 23, while a rescheduled German Bierfest is planned for Woodruff Park on Nov. 6. Learn more about the chamber’s events here.
Its new address is:
271 17th Street, NW
Suite 1750
Atlanta, GA 30363
