German manufacturer of hydraulic systems and valves last week held the grand opening of its new plant in Gainesville.

Andreas Lupold Hydrotechnik GmbH hired and trained 12 employees before beginning production at its 24,000-square-foot factory in April.

Lupold first looked at Hall County in 2008 during a multi-state search, eventually picking the location because of its quality workforce and the training provided by Georgia’s Quick Start program. The company plans to invest more than $9 million and hire 61 employees over five years.

Lupold is one of more than 370 German companies operating in Georgia, Gov. Nathan Deal said in a news release.
