A German manufacturer of orthopedic braces, joint supports and compression socks has moved its 30-year-old Georgia operation from Kennesaw to Midtown.

Bauerfeind USA Inc. is set to celebrate the move July 30 with an open house featuring leaders of the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association.

Bauerfeind USA is a subsidiary of the German firm founded in 1929, which now has 2,000 employees around the world. It supplied the German Olympic team from 2002-10 and since then has won tenders as the exclusive supplier of braces and supports to Olympic organizing committees.

The company first opened in Kennesaw in 1985.
