The German parliament is offering five-month internships to young college graduates who speak German.
Deadline for applications is July 31. Interns receive travel expenses to and from Berlin, free accommodations, a monthly stipend of about 450 Euros (about $630) and health, accident and liability insurance.
Each year, 120 young people from 28 countries participate in the five-month International Parliamentary Scholarship program. In addition to an internship with a member of the Bundestag, Germany’s parliament, there is an academic program sponsored by Berlin’s three universities. The 2010 program begins in March and concludes at the end of July. Applicants must have been born after March 1, 1980, have a college degree and an excellent knowledge of German.
