The tally is in, and Global Connect, an international networking event held May 3, broke the 1,000-attendee mark for the second straight year.

The event was held at the 200 Peachtree building downtown and was attended by business leaders, binational chambers of commerce and officials including Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

Its theme focused on the Atlanta airport’s new Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal, which opened two weeks later on May 16.

Organizers are in the process of planning a third event in the series.
