While some reporting experience is preferred, it is not required. The candidate should have strong writing abilities and a demonstrated interest in journalism and international business as well as cultural, economic and political affairs.
The reporter will need to master Associated Press style, report on seminars, receptions, press events and other meetings in the Atlanta area and assist with filming video interviews as needed.
GlobalAtlanta is an Internet news service, so familiarity with Web development and audio/ video production is appreciated, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable conducting interviews on camera.
The GlobalAtlanta newsgathering process is based upon “relationship reporting,” which entails developing a familiarity with the international business community in Atlanta and establishing contacts in local companies, bi-national chambers of commerce and consulates.
Agio Press is in the process of expanding its coverage of Savannah and Georgia and the new reporter will play an important role in this growth as well.
Mastery of a foreign language, especially Spanish, would be appreciated, but is not required. A bachelor’s degree is required.
