Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue will lead a trade delegation to the United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany July 19-23.
In the United Kingdom, the group of community and business leaders will attend the Farnborough International Airshow to promote Georgia’s aerospace industry. Georgia companies participating in the show include Aerospace Missions Corp., which is opening an advanced technology center in St. Marys; Jetcraft Avionics LLC, from Evans; and Nor-Ral Plastics Inc., based in Canton.
Mr. Perdue will stop in Stockholm, Sweden and Dusseldorf, Germany, seeking investment, according to a news release.
He will meet with companies that already have investments in Georgia, such as Firth Rixson Ltd., a metal products manufacturer that is building a plant in Liberty County near Savannah; Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, a London-based company which is moving its combined headquarters for North America and Latin America to Atlanta and RWE Innogy, a German company which is a partner in a $150 million wood pellet plant under construction near Waycross.
“We are delighted that Gov. Perdue is bringing such an important delegation to Germany,” Stefanie Jehlitschka, marketing director for the German American Chamber of the Southern U.S. Inc. told GlobalAtlanta. “We are especially excited about his visit with RWE in Germany. Germany has always been the leading country in renewable energies.”
