By early 2015 Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. will build a new global Product Support and Distribution Center at the NorthPort Industrial Park off Interstate 95 in Savannah.
The 338,100-square-foot facility will house $900 million worth of parts and materials, consolidating the contents of several other warehouses in the area. It will include an additional 67,800 square feet of office space on three levels.
The goal is to streamline access to spare parts and materials for the growing fleet of Gulfstream business jets around the world. The company holds a total of $1.4 billion in inventory and spare parts.
Gulfstream is already in the middle of a $500 million manufacturing expansion that is to add 1,000 jobs over seven years.
