In an effort to reduce the number of construction site accidents in Atlanta, WorkplaceSpanish, a business language training company, is to assist the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) to teach construction managers and Spanish-speaking employees to communicate on the job.
“Our aim is basic communication between supervisors and their employees, not grammar,” Tom Sutula, president of WorkplaceSpanish told GlobalFax. “We teach job-appropriate vocabulary and pronunciation, primarily to the construction industry, but we will be expanding into the landscape, restaurant and hospitality industries in the near future.”
The GHCC construction Spanish classes are to commence in January and will initially target construction supervisors and managers. The second focus will be English classes for workers.
