Following a 31-year career at the Wachovia Bank, including the past 15 years as a senior vice president most recently overseeing trade finance and related issues, Bill Dunn has joined Greenville, S.C.-based Export Financial Services Inc.

Mr. Dunn has been appointed a senior vice president and director, trade finance, and is to open the company’s Atlanta office. Export Financial Services was founded in 1996 to foster the expansion of overseas sales as a broker of credit insurance and is an official representative of the Export-Import Bank’s state program in South Carolina.

During a telephone interview, he told GlobalFax that he would work with banks, corporations and other consulting firms to offer trade finance, risk management, e-commerce and consulting services.

His responsibilities at Wachovia included the development of a full set of capabilities to finance trade, mitigate risks, monitor exposures and process trade activity.

Among other activities, he led the design and development of two mainframe computer systems to process foreign exchange trades and international funds transfers. He also administered the delivery of corporate cash management services in Canada and Mexico.

Mr. Dunn serves on the advisory board of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill’s Center for International Studies, and is a past member of the Trade Finance Committee of the Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) and the international operations committee of the American Bankers Association (ABA).
