More than 18,000 company decision-makers from around the world will be in Atlanta Jan. 26-28 for the International Poultry Exposition at the Georgia World Congress Center.
According to the state’s Department of Agriculture, if Georgia were a country, it would be the 4th largest producer of poultry in the world after the United States, China and Brazil.
Sponsored by U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, the event will feature some 900 booths displaying poultry products and services, including feed milling, hatchery, live production, processing and support activities, including marketing.
Preceding the exposition on Jan. 24-25, the International Poultry Scientific Forum will be held at the GWCC, covering topics such as avian diseases, environmental management, nutrition, pathology, physiology, processing and products.
The Southern Poultry Science Society and the Southern Conference on Avian Diseases, as well as the Poultry & Egg Association, are sponsoring the scientific forum.
Among the exposition’s attendees last year were representatives from the top 30 U.S. broiler companies and 20 of the top 24 turkey companies, according to exposition literature.
Funds raised at the exposition are funneled back into the poultry industry in the form of research grants, educational programs and promotional activities.
Registration deadline for attendees and exhibitors is Friday, Jan. 7.
