Ireland’s prime minister, John Bruton, will visit UPS’s headquarters in Sandy Springs and meet with company president James Kelly as part of an Atlanta visit Wednesday, March 19.

      According to a spokesman of the Irish embassy in Washington, Mr. Bruton wished to visit UPS because the company Dublin, which serves seven European countries.  The center now employs 450 people and is expected to provide an additional 1,000 jobs in the next five years.

      In addition, Mr. Bruton plans to attend a luncheon to be hosted by the Irish Trade Board and a dinner to be hosted by the Southern Center for International Studies.

      He will spend Monday, March 17 in Washington where he is to attend St. Patrick’s Day ceremonies with President Bill Clinton and is to meet the following day with Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and other Congressional leaders.
