Tom Glaser, who has announced his retirement as head of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Region after 21 years of service, is to receive the chamber’s Founders Award at its annual Eagle Awards event to be held May 30. His retirement is to be effective this fall and his replacement still is to be determined.

The South Carolina Research Authority, which collaborates with industries and universities to promote high-tech development, is to be presented with the Community Partner Award at the event to be held at the Hewlett-Packard Graphic Arts Experience Center in Alpharetta.

Finalists for the chamber’s Israeli Company of the Year Award are:

ARKAL Automotive operates a 32,000 square foot facility in Auburn, Ala., which is the first U.S. manufacturing operation of the Lower Galilee-based company that uses advanced thermoplastic technologies and the latest developments in high-quality materials to produce plastic parts.

ClickDimensions, an Atlanta-Israeli software startup that is the top-rated Microsoft-certified marketing automation solution for Microsoft Dynamics CRM;

Delek, a Netanya, Israel-based holding company, that has its Delek U.S. Holding Inc. headquarters in Brentwood, Tenn., from where it operates a diversified energy business with refineries, crude oil pipelines, light products, loading facilities, retail fuel and convenience stores throughout the Southeast.

Deal of the Year finalists are:

Endochoice that merged with Peer Medical Ltd., a privately held Israeli company, which maintains its headquarters in Alpharetta but now has a research and development center in Caesaria, Israel;

NCR Corp. that acquired Ra’anana, Israel-based Retalix, a global tech provider of innovative retail software and services;

SintacMedia, a Jerusalem-based broadcast management software provider that has acquired Atlanta-based Argo Systems, a provider of business solutions to the cable network and operators industry.

The winners in each category will be selected by a panel of judges including Richard Kopelman, managing partner and CEO of Habif, Arogeti and Wynne LLP; Melanie Bialko Leeth, vice president of Imlay Investments and Garrett Van de Grift, CEO of Red Wizard Group.

The Eagle Star Awards Gala is the chamber’s flagship event honoring the people and companies who have contributed most to the Southeast-Israel economic and business relationships.
