Japanese-based Kubota Corp., a producer of tractors and utility vehicles, has announced the expansion of its Kubota Manufacturing of America plant in Gainesville.

The additional production line in the 212,000-square foot plant will include a high-tech painting system for Kubota’s rough terrain vehicles.

Dignitaries from Kubota’s headquarters in Osaka, Japan, and its affiliates, Kubota Tractor Corp., Kubota Industrial Equipment, Kubota Engine of America, Kubota Canada and Kubota Credit Corp., attended a ribbon cutting ceremony in Gainesville on Feb. 9.

Founded in 1988, Kubota Manufacturing of America produces nearly half of all Kubota-branded equipment in the United States.
