The Georgia Department of Development is seeking exporters to visit the United Kingdom for one of the aerospace industry’s largest trade shows.

Interested companies should register by May 9 to join the department’s booth at the Farnborough International Airshow July 9-15.

Exhibiting with the state allows companies to enter the show at a lower cost and to participate in co-branding opportunities with the state and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The Farnborough show is held every two years and focuses on the aerospace, defense, space and security sectors with a strong focus on promoting international trade.

Five days of the show are dedicated to trade, according to a Georgia news release. In 2010 the show attracted more than 120,000 visitors and saw $47 billion in deals announced.

The cost for exhibiting at the Georgia booth is $400 for small and medium-sized enterprises and $2,500 for large companies.

In 2011, Georgia’s exports of aircraft, engines and parts grew 24.2 percent to $5 billion, making aerospace equipment the state’s largest export commodity, according to the U.S. Census Bureau
