Ten British firms have been selected to visit Atlanta on a small-business trade mission in March, offering products and solutions from moldable glue to customized haircare and floor tiles that convert energy to electricity.

The list was whittled down from 19 shortlisted firms on Jan. 19 after pitches to panel of judges including seasoned entrepreneurs, executives, journalists and a representative of United Kingdom Trade and Investment. UKTI, a government agency, is managing the mission backed by Atlanta-based United Parcel Service Inc. and publicized by The Guardian newspaper.

Most of the companies chosen offer tangible products, which they will learn how to sell and distribute in the U.S. market during the mission. They span a broad range of sectors: Aquaforno offers an outdoor cooking stove, while Plastic Castle offers replacement foam for protective sporting equipment.
