Lockheed Martin Corp. elected Rosalind Brewer to its board of directors at a meeting on April 28.
Ms. Brewer is the executive vice president and president of Walmart East, overseeing more than 1,600 stores in the eastern division of the U.S. She will serve a one-year term as a Lockheed Martin director.
After joining Walmart in 2006 as regional vice president, responsible for operations in Georgia, she was promoted to president of the entire southeast division.
Based in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin specializes in the research, design and manufacturing of defense systems. It has a Marietta facility that produces the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, a four-engine military transport.
Lockheed Martin employs about 126,000 people and has offices in Brazil, Canada, Japan, Spain and the U.K.
