The first MaggieMoo’s ice cream franchise in Asia has opened at a Singapore shopping mall.

The store opened under an existing franchise agreement with Thirtythree Private Ltd., a Singapore firm that is also the main franchisee of Marble Slab Creamery in the country.

Atlanta-based NexCen Franchise Management Inc., a subsidiary of New York’s NexCen Brands Inc., operates both ice cream chains.

“Through our visionary development partner, our two ice cream concepts have a presence at very popular and attractive locations in Singapore,” said Chris Dull, president of NexCen Franchise Management, in a news release. “The initial customer response for MaggieMoo’s in Singapore has been positive.”

NexCen operates other restaurant franchises including Great American Cookies, Pretzel Time and Pretzelmaker. Its two retail stores include Shoebox New York and TAF, formerly The Athlete’s Foot, which has stores all over the world.
