Representatives from a dozen companies from the Mediterranean island of Malta will be visiting Atlanta June 7-8 on a trade mission composed of a variety of manufacturers, software developers and financial and trade services firms.

“Malta-based companies offer an attractive opportunity for Georgia companies seeking partners abroad or strategic alliances to penetrate the regional markets of Southern Europe, North Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East,” Diane Alleva Caceras told GlobalFax last week.

Ms. Alleva Caceras is president of the Atlanta-based consulting firm Market Access International and is coordinating local arrangements for the delegation.

Alfa-Trx, an engineering firm seeking partners to collaborate on industrial development projects in Malta, North Africa and the Middle East and BDS, an information technology services company specializing in the hospitality industry, are to be included.

Also scheduled to participate are Eagle Knitwear, a manufacturer of sports and casual wear, F M Environmental, a waste and waste water treatment process design engineering firm, GETEC Solutions, an information technology firm that develops applications for e-commerce, and GST Manufacturing, a manufacturer of thick-film printed circuits and copper bonded ceramic substrates.

Other manufacturers to be represented include Gozo Glass, handcrafted decorative art glass and giftware, Intergold, hand- and machine-made gold chains and bracelets, and MB Sell System, personal care products.

Maltese banks participating in the mission include The Bank of Valletta and Mid Med Bank.  The Malta Development Corp., which provides investment incentives, and METCO, which offers trade services, also are to be represented.
