Mika Jennings, a freight forwarder with Hitachi Transport System (America), Ltd., and a transportation logistics manager with GE-Hitachi HVB, Inc., has been elected president of the Atlanta Women in International Trade (AWIT).  In this position, she also will serve as the Atlanta representative to the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT).

      Born in Sao Paola, Brazil, Ms. Jennings grew up in San Diego, Calif., and Phoenix, New York.  She has been a member of AWIT since 1991.

      Other officers elected at AWIT’s annual dinner held April 30 were Noreen Field, Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems, vice president/president-elect; Nicole Sams, Burke MarketGrowth, secretary and Jennifer King, Crisp Hughes Evans LLP, treasurer.

      New board members include Pat Saenz, Seabord Marine; Tracy Proctor, Medisphere, Inc. and Ronnie Genser, Genser International Consulting Inc.

      Lynn Wendt, the outgoing president, was honored at the dinner as the 1998 International Woman of the Year.  Mary S. Rosenbaum of the Federal Reserve Bank was the dinner speaker. Her topic was The Asian Economic Crisis: A Search for Insights.
